The Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway officially opened on Monday. Yangcheng Evening News reporter learned that after the operation of Wu-Guangzhou high-speed railway, Guangdong express companies have tested the water of high-speed rail express transportation between Guangzhou and Changsha. Now the opening of Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway will bring new opportunities to the logistics and express industry. "Before the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway opened, there was high-speed express transport between Guangzhou and Changsha." The person in charge of a well-known private express enterprise in Guangzhou told reporters that the express delivery by road accounted for about 80% of the transportation, about 15% by air. In fact, both in terms of time and cost, high-speed rail has advantages over highways. After the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway is put into operation, many cities in the middle node are areas with high demand for express services, and there is a lot of space. It is learnt that in mid-December, the State Post Bureau, the Comprehensive Transport Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission and the China Express Association formed a joint research team to go to Guangdong Province to conduct field research on express delivery enterprises' use of high-speed rail to transport express parcels. In addition to express delivery, traditional logistics industries such as bulk commodity transportation are also expected to benefit from the opening of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed rail line and the improved freight capacity of the Beijing-Guangzhou Line. Statistics show that after the opening of the Wu-Guangzhou high-speed railway alone, the freight capacity of the Beijing-Guangzhou Line has increased by 10.9%, improving the transportation demand for key materials such as coal, oil and grain, which have been restricted for a long time, as well as foreign trade freight between Hong Kong and Macao. |
